RapidRide
RapidRide has been providing fixed route public transportation services in Rapid City since 1992. Operating on six different fixed routes, RapidRide provides timely service to many convenient locations throughout Rapid City. All RapidRide routes run on 35-minute frequencies.
Adopt-A-Stop
Rapid Transit System (RTS), is committed to servicing the people of Rapid City with safe, reliable and affordable public transportation. RTS RapidRide program has six buses, each driving two routes throughout our days of operation, Monday through Saturday, and each bus route has 20+ bus stops. That is a lot of bus stops to maintain!
This is where you or your organization’s help is needed. With so many bus stops, we are not able to keep up with the trash and vandalism on a daily basis. But when community-minded, environmental conscience individuals and organizations volunteer to help RTS and the City of Rapid City maintain a litter-free bus stop, our community becomes a better and cleaner place to live and work for us all.
Adopt-A-Stop is easy: Adopters sign up and agree to help keep the bus stop area clean of litter, vandalism and snow removal when needed. The adoption is for one year and are automatically renewed unless otherwise notified. In the event that a bus stop needs some extra attention or there are any hazardous materials present, Adopters need to report their concerns to RTS as soon as possible.
What’s in it for you/your organization? RTS will post your name/your organization’s commitment on their website, Facebook page, and you/your organization will also be publicly recognized once a year at the City Council Meeting. Although, it is not available for you/your organization to post any signage on the bus stop itself of your involvement, RTS encourages you to display your certificate and advertise your status on your own website and Facebook pages as an adopter, that is committed to your customers and the community.
Thank you to our current adopters!

Spotting Your Bus
All RapidRide buses will have the route name displayed over the windshield and on the passenger side of the vehicle. Be sure it is the bus you want before depositing your fare. Ask the driver if you are not sure.
Catching Your Bus
